2006 Guidelines and 2011 Update

The Figure repeats the therapy recommendations from the ACCF/AHA/ESC* Guidelines[91][92] for the management of patients with AFib, but highlights that the current European (ESC) guidelines [93] are slightly more aggressive than the American, in that they recommend for replacing antiplatelet therapy (with aspirin) with anticoagulant therapy most patients with a CHA2DS2-VASc score of 1 or more.
