ARISTOTLE – Bleeding Outcomes

In terms of bleeding outcomes, the Figure shows that all except gastrointestinal bleeds were significantly reduced with apixaban versus warfarin.  Intracranial bleeding, in particular, was reduced by almost 60%. In contrast to the other approved factor Xa inhibitor, however, GI bleeding was not increased, highlighting that there are subtle differences among the agents.
