FIG. 7:  The physician must keep the goals of management of T1 high-grade bladder cancer always in mind (Figure).  These will be to eradicate any existing bladder tumors; prevent or delay tumor recurrence; prevent or delay tumor progression; and prevent this disease, which is often due to carcinogens, from becoming a pan-urothelial disease. 

If we comply with all those steps, we can preserve survival in these patients.
