Procedural Management Based on Bleeding Risk of Surgery

The EHRA guide gives a simplified version of the procedural management of bleeding risk of surgery based on whether the procedure is associated with a low or high risk (Figure 19).[14]  Depending on which agent the patient happens to be on and what their renal function is, it can be seen from this table how long the particular agent should be withheld before starting the procedure – again, a very helpful document providing guidelines for questions encountered in practice on a daily basis.
