What is the Clinical Indication and Contraindiction for ASV

FIG. 6:  This Figure summarizes the clinical indications and contraindications for ASV.  ASV is indicated in normo- or hypocapnic CSA, with or without periodic breathing, and with or without co-existing OSA.  The contraindications are NYHA class II–IV symptomatic heart failure, LVEF ≤45%, and moderate-to-severe predominant CSA.
