FIG. 35: Sometimes the ASV device readouts report very low average pressure support, eg, 0.7 cmH2O, as shown in this Figure. In this situation the question becomes whether the device active or broken. If we look at the inspiratory pressure support applied during the course of the night, we see that most of the time during the night the inspiratory pressure support is minimal, but when it is needed, the machine kicks in and provides inspiratory pressure up to 17.0 cmH2O. So the device is working, but it is programmed to be as pressure-saving as possible.
