The Figure underscores a statistically significantly greater reduction in intracranial hemorrhage with each of the new agents compared with warfarin.[118] Again, risk versus effect must be carefully considered by physicians and their patients, but probably most individuals would prefer the risk of a bleed to the risk of a stroke, especially if part of that bleeding risk is not going to be in the head.
