Baseline Patient Characteristics in RE-LY
The Figure shows the baseline characteristics of the patients in RE-LY, which are typical of a population with AFib with associated structural disorders.[96]
The mean age was 71 years, although a significant percentage, 40%, were aged ≥75 years. As usual there were more men than women. The mean CHADS2 score was 2.2, but of note (highlighted in light blue), about one third of the patients had a CHADS2 score ≥3, which becomes relevant when comparing these results to the ROCKET AF trial with rivaroxaban (discussed below).
