Stasis in the Left Atrial Appendage

This Figure shows potential prothrombotic mechanisms in AFib and it demonstrates the effect of left atrial stasis.  So you can see as antegrade flow velocity increases, the annualized risk of cardioembolic events decreases just going from left to right, so stasis is clearly a component of the risk profile [21]
