Jin - Figure 44 - HHS Policy and Co-Testing Coverage

In July 2011, the Institute of Medicine recommended HPV co- testing as an essential women’s health preventive
service in a report to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and HHS included HPV co-testing as
an essential preventive service in its “Guidelines for Women’s Preventive Services.”

Under this new HHS policy most private health plans starting in January 2013 will be required to cover HPV
co-testing with no out-of-pocket costs for our patients.
